은재필 〈파란 밤, 파란 그림자〉, 2025/2026
〈파란 밤, 파란 그림자〉는 남성의 몸으로 여성을 연기한 경극 배우 메이란 팡에 관한 연구를 통해, 전통과 기록, 수행을 관통하는 질문을 던집니다.
작가는 1935년 출판된 메이란 팡의 연기 교본을 번역하고, 그의 움직임을 담은 사진을 재촬영하고, 이를 오페라 공연으로 소개합니다.

SeMA Performance Breathing
Jae Pil Eun, Blue Night, Blue Shadow, 2026
Through research on Mei Lanfang, a male Peking opera actor who played female roles, Blue Night, Blue Shadow poses questions that penetrate tradition, records, and performance. Translating Mei’s acting manual published in 1935 and retaking photographs of the actor‘s movements, the artist showcases them through an opera performance.
