서울시립 미술아카이브의 레퍼런스 라이브러리는 책을 매개로 다양한 예술적 실천을 공유하는 공간입니다. 국내외 단행본부터 전시 출판물, 아티스트북, 소규모 출판물과 어린이책까지 폭넓게 수집하며, 책에 담긴 다채로운 관점을 통해 미술의 안과 밖을 탐구합니다.
레퍼런스 라이브러리는 매년 한 차례 ‘책 생각들’을 선보입니다. 동시대에 활발히 활동하는 기획자, 작가, 비평가, 연구자 등을 초대해 각자의 관심과 문제의식을 에세이로 풀어내고, 함께 읽을 책을 추천합니다. 소개된 책은 레퍼런스 라이브러리의 장서로 새롭게 수집됩니다. 소책자와 추천 도서는 하나의 주제를 깊이 탐색하고, 서로 다른 생각과 관점을 이어보는 길잡이가 됩니다.

The Reference Library at AA SeMA is a place where people can explore and share a variety of artistic practices through books. The collection includes a variety of materials―such as domestic and international monographs, exhibition catalogues, artist books, independent publications, and children’s literature―inviting visitors to explore art through the diverse perspectives these works offer.
Every year, the Reference Library presents Check―Minds. The program invites contemporary curators, artists, critics, and researchers engaged in contemporary cultural practice to share their interests and concerns through an essay and a list of recommended books, published together as a booklet. The recommended titles are subsequently acquired for the library's collection. Together, the booklets and book selections offer a way to look closely at particular fields while connecting different lines of thought.
