Lucia Kempkes researches the effects of landscapes on the personal perception of location, and searches for new ways to depict landscape as we live in between digital and analog spaces. Therefore she creates large scale installations including drawing and video.
Born 1988 in Xanten, Germany, Lucia Kempkes studied Biology and Philosophy at Freie Universität Berlin as well as Fine Arts at the Universität der Künste Berlin and the School of Visual Arts in New York City.
In 2014 she founded Mindscape Universe, an art collective with a project space in Berlin.
2015/16, she was artist in residency at Pioneer Works in New York City and awarded with a grant by the Richard Thomas Foundation London.
