Introduction
Soyo Lee is a visual artist interested in cultural conventions of transforming lifeforms into visual information and artistic expression, and investigates conceptual and methodological intersections of life sciences, natural history and art. Soyo runs Lifeforms in Culture, a one-person publisher based in Seoul, Korea. She holds a PhD from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with research on the aesthetical decision making in conservation of historical anatomical specimens. Soyo’s works have been shown at venues including the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Korea, Seoul Museum of Art, Nam June Paik Art Center, Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, and the Mutter Museum at the College of Physicians of Philadelphia.
