Seoul Museum of Art does not allow visitors to take photos during exhibition hours in accordance with Article 7, Subparagraph 2 of the “Seoul Metropolitan Museum Management and Operation Ordinance.”
The limitation is due to the following reasons:
1. The creator of the artwork on display holds the copyright to the artwork, and thus permission is required for photography.
2. Camera flashes can damage the artwork on display.
3. Taking photos or photo flashing can disturb other visitors.
However, some exhibitions allow photography upon pre-agreement with the artist. Please check whether photos are allowed when viewing artworks.
