Introduction

Chang-kon Lim disrupts, connects, and blends the conventions of painting as he traces the sensations of the body. Through this process, he explores the sensory essence of the body that eludes mere sight, intertwining the discovered physical traits and forms with the tangible world. Lately, he’s taken an interest in the body’s dual nature ― simultaneously grotesque and beautiful.

Chang-kon Lim majored in painting at Seoul National University. He has held solo exhibitions such as 48! : Morphing Gesture (Cadalogue Space, Seoul, 2022) and Bulging Scenery (Artspace Hyeong, Seoul, 2019). Additionally, he has participated in various group exhibitions including Exoskeleton (P21, Seoul, 2024), Doosan Art Lab (Doosan Gallery, Seoul, 2023), Living Relationship : Summer (Namsan Mountain, Seoul, 2022), 21st Century Painting (Hite Collection, Seoul, 2021), Bony (Museumhead, Seoul, 2021), and Gaze (Space 413, Seoul, 2020). He was selected as the 18th resident artist of SeMA Nanji Residency.
