Introduction
Barbara Claus (b. Brussels, B) is a visual artist living in Montreal and in the Laurentian forest. She obtained her BFA at UQAM in visual arts and started a BFA on Study on Death. She was awarded multiple long-term residencies in Banff Centre, in Mexico from the Ministry of Culture and Foreign Affairs of Canada, Argentina (CALQ); was invited at the Helen Wurlitzer Foundation in New Mexico, was awarded Le Studio du Quebec in Tokyo (CALQ), the Tapiola Studio in Finland and invited by the Swatch Foundation in Shanghai for 6 months. She has received numerous research grants from the CALQ and the Canada Council throughout her career and has produce several permanent public art works. She has presented her installations in more then 50 shows in Canada, Europe, Mexico, etc. The coming year she will be presenting work in Buenos Aires, Quebec, Greece and Slovakia.
