William Ludwig Lutgens (born in 1991, Turnhout, Belgium) is based in Antwerp, Belgium.
Since 2018 Lutgens has been in support of FLACC workplace for visual artists for various on-going projects and is since 2018-2019 supported by the Flanders State of the Art/ Flemish grant. Numerous other, short-term, residencies in 2018 and 2017 have been Kokela in Bili - Kinshasa, DR
Congo and Sala D’art Jove – Hangar in Barcelona, Spain. In 2017 Lutgens finished
the post-academic residency program at the HISK (Higher Institute of Fine Arts)
in Ghent. That same year he received The Eeckman Art Prize at Art On Paper in
Bozar (Palais des beaux arts Brussels), the Front Line - Lyra prize at Drawing
Room Madrid and The Boghossian Foundation’ 2nd prize at Art Contest in
Brussels. In 2015, Lutgens graduated in a postgraduate Master of Research in
Art, after doing a MA in Graphic Design at St Lucas School of Arts Antwerp in
2013. Since 2016 William has been self-publishing Het Geïllustreerd Blad.
