Minkyu Hwang directly shoots or collects vlogs from close family and friends, news and current affairs programs, as well as films and animations from subculture worldviews, and then re-edits them. His mockumentaries, positioned at the intersection of the ambiguous boundary between reality and the virtual, and the micro-level life stories and the dramatically vast worldviews, reveal the unstable underside of reality and seek alternative exits.
He has held solo exhibitions such as Out of the Blue (2023, Project Space Sarubia) and Sing a Miracle (2020, The Reference), and has participated in exhibitions including FOREVERISM: ENDLESS HORIZONS (2024, Ilmin Museum of Art), The Continuous Present (2021, SAHNG-UP GALLERY), Super Hero (2020, Insa Art Space), Society of Person (2020, Wumin Art Center), and Image, Silhouette, and Motion (2019, Gyeonggi Museum of Modern Art).
