Ahn Kwanghwee earned a BFA and an MFA in printmaking from Seoul National University. Through rhymes, rap, beats, and video, he visualizes the process by which hip-hop music, as a medium, is de-contextualized and re-contextualized within the art world. His work and research explore how the value and role of art and artists shift according to media environments and institutional frameworks.

He has held solo exhibitions such as Show Down (ThisWeekendRoom, 2020), Noise Cancelling (PS Sarubia, 2019), and The Pathetic Rhymes (Instant Roof, 2017). He has also participated in group exhibitions including The Liminal Future (YDP Artsquare, 2024), Phantasmagoria Unleashed (Space Sarang Farm, 2024), Breathing Breaks, Breaking Breaths (BOAN1942, 2024), Between Two Beats (Geumcheon Art Factory PS333, 2022), and The Joy of Singing (Alternative Space LOOP, 2021). Additionally, he has been a resident artist at Geumcheon Art Factory (Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture, 2022), and Myeongnyun-dong Studio (Can Foundation, 2023).
