Introduction

Hyeree Ro is an artist based in Brooklyn, New York and Seoul, primarily working with sculptural objects and multi-lingual fractured narrative-based performance. Her interest lies in things that are not easily definable and her practice explores narratives interweaving family history, places, cities, language, body, movement, and stories. She holds MFA in Sculpture from Yale School of Art and a BFA from Korea National University of Arts. She presented solo exhibitions Niro (Canal Projects, New York, US) and Jinhee (Project Space SARUBIA, 2022). Her works has been exhibited internationally including Billytown (The Hague, NL), AHL Foundation Gallery(New York, US), Leeum Museum of Art (KR), Ilmin Museum of Art (KR), Asia Culture Center (KR), Korean Culture Center (Ottawa, CA), Doosan Gallery (KR), HITE Collection (KR), and Akiyoshidai International Art Village (Mine, JP).
