Chung Sang-hwa (b. 1932) received his bachelor’s degree from Department of Painting at Seoul National University. From 1967 to 1992, he worked as an artist in France and Japan. He has actively continued to produce new works since returning to Korea. Since 1962, he has held numerous solo exhibitions including a large-scale retrospective exhibition at the Musee d’art moderne et contemporain Saint-Etienne metropole in 2011. He also participated in numerous group exhibitions inducing “Beyond and Between” at Leeum, Samsung Museum of Art.
