SeMA NANJI RESIDENCY (SNR) was founded in 2006 by renovating unused sewage treatment facilities on Nanjido, Seoul. It runs various programs designed to revitalize international exchanges, and provides studio spaces for promising new artists to allow them to concentrate on their artistic activities in a stable environment.

SNR assists international exchanges between artists in the studio by running world- class residency programs such as project exhibitions, workshops and publications, mentoring programs, open studios, and international exchange exhibitions. Twenty-one local artists move into this facility each year, and twelve foreign artists are invited to participate in the programs for three months in each quarter.
