The idle facilities (Nanjido landfill leachate treatment plant) of Nanjido which was reborn as an eco-park for the citizens of Seoul were remodeled into creative workplace for young artists to encourage their creativity and imagination. SeMA will provide support in every way possible to make this studio an incubator for talented young Korean artists.

Nanji Residency was designed to provide work spaces for young and competent new artists for a certain period of time and encourage their creativity. It is also a residence place for various community programs which draw participation of the general public.

Located between Noeul Park and Hanul Park inside Nanjido, Nanji Residency has 25 art studios and circular gallery.

Studio

STUDIO A (total size 1,152 m2 ) : 17 rooms

STUDO B (total 616m2) : 8 rooms

There are total 28 art studios equipped with kitchen and bathroom. It is opened 24hours a day to help the artists-in-residence concentrate on their works in good environment.

SeMA NANJI Exhibition Hall

SeMA NANJI Exhibition Hall was built with the original structure of idle facilities such as precipitation tank and concentration tank to be preserved during the remodeling process. Nanji Gallery is composed of two circular exhibition rooms where the resident artists hold personal exhibition, group exhibition, invitation exhibition and exchange exhibition. In addition, Nanji Gallery is a space where diversified genre of arts can be flexibly exhibited with dramatic interpretation. (total size: 232m2)

Outdoor studio

Outdoor studio is a common space for large-scale pieces, sculptures and installations which are difficult to work in the indoor studio.(total size: 72m2)
